White Clamshell Mushrooms, one of the many varieties of Asian mushrooms known as Shimeji in Japan, are noted for their crisp texture, mild flavor profile and nutty richness that enhances the flavor of foods with which they are paired. Perfect for roasting or stir frys, White Clamshell Mushrooms retain their wonderful crisp texture even after cooking at high heat.
The mushroom is organically cultivated here in the US, growing in clusters with stems ranging several inches in length. Almost all of the stem of the White Clamshell Mushroom is edible, requiring only minimal trimming at the base before cooking.
The long, slender stems and small rounded caps of the White Clamshell Mushroom give them their distinctive appearance and makes them very appealing when used in noodle dishes, soups and stir fry dishes.
