The pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is a unique and highly sought after tree sporting the largest edible fruit native to North America. Also called the Indiana banana, it is indigenous to the midwestern, Atlantic, and southern regions of the United States. The pawpaw is considered an evolutionary anachronism, once relying upon a now extinct species for seed dispersal. Today, the fruit is enjoyed for its exotic flavor profile described as a cross between a banana and a mango delivered through a sweet, custard-like pulp. 

We collected seeds from one of the few experimental pawpaw orchards in Rhode Island and germinated them with love and care. They were selected for fruit quality, yield, and adaptability to the climate and weather of the northeast. This local variety is an excellent option for cultivators who wish to grow pawpaws outside of their native region. The Dunstan chestnut (Castanea dentata x mollissima) is a tried and true hybrid between a rare blight resistant American chestnut specimen and several Chinese chestnut cultivars, producing an abundant crop of consistently large and sweet tasting chestnuts with a nutritional profile similar to that of corn. These dual purpose trees also provide excellent timber, growing to a height of 40-60 feet. They require little or no maintenance once established. Transplant after the last frost in your area, protect them from deer, and rest assured knowing you've created a source of food security and stability which will stand for centuries.

Fresh honey mushrooms gathered in the forests of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Honey mushrooms are known to have a sweet and savory flavor. They are delicious in casseroles, dumplings, and other savory dishes. These mushrooms must be thoroughly braised, stewed, or roasted for at least 10 minutes before they can be properly digested. As far as health benefits go in mushrooms, honey fungus are unbeatable. They are rich in anti oxidants and contain armillarikin, a compound that has been shown to kill cancer cells. Research has also suggested they improve neuron function by decreasing the proteins in the brain associated with Alzheimer's disease. In another study, honey mushrooms were shown to decrease blood sugar. *As with all wild mushrooms, if it's your first time trying them we recommend you start with a small serving to ensure you don't have an allergy you weren't aware of. *By the time you receive your mushrooms, they may be a tad dry. This is normal for fresh mushrooms. You can submerge them in boiling or very hot water for 20-30 minutes to plump them up.

Simply fry, sauté, or bake them to add the flavors of the sea to any dish. They are great in scampi, seafood tacos, and chowders.*We offer both the aborted and non aborted forms, if you do not want the cap then please let us know*Shrimp of the woods is a notoriously dirty mushroom, its growth habit is close to the earth and the many folds make cleaning each individual mushroom impossible for us. We try to clean them as best we can, but be aware there will be some dirt on these. Cutting them up/washing them during your meal prep should work just fine.*As with all wild mushrooms, if it's your first time trying them we recommend you start with a small serving to ensure you don't have an allergy you weren't aware of. *By the time you receive your mushrooms, they may be a tad dry. These premium wine cap mushrooms were cultivated outdoors on a diverse substrate of woodchips, straw, and leaf litter.&nbsp;The larger wine caps are great with steak, in burgers, or vegan alternatives. Popular cooking methods involve cooking button sized caps whole in soups. We also have customers who use them in empanadas or pizzas. Wine caps are a seasonal mushroom and grow when nature dictates so we recommend buying when you see a listing as for they are up for a limited time.
