Our Story

Heray Spice was founded to share the exceptional saffron of real Herati saffron with kitchens, chefs, and food lovers across the United States—while creating meaningful opportunities for the farmers behind every harvest.

Our saffron is grown and hand-harvested by local Afghan farmers using traditional and sustainable agricultural practices. We work directly with our farmer cooperative to source pure, premium-quality Super Negin saffron, without additives, artificial dyes, or preservatives.

Our founder, Mohammad Salehi, personally visits the farming communities during harvest season to build relationships with farmers and help ensure the quality and integrity of every harvest.

For us, saffron is more than a spice. It is a connection between farmers, culture, food, and community. Every thread carries the story of Herat and the generations of farmers who have cultivated this precious spice.
