Rare & Delicious

🌱 Wild Herbs & Clean Foods

🌱 Small Batch & Sustainably Harvested

Welcome to Rare Delicious, where wild meets wonderful.

We’re a small homestead tucked in the mountains of rural Tennessee, known as Promethean Pastures. What began as a personal quest for clean food, natural living, and real herbal medicine has grown into a vibrant farmstead for kindred spirits who crave rare, nourishing, and delicious things—but don’t always have the time or land to grow or forage them.

Our 63 acres—part pasture, part woodland—are home to lush gardens, happy animals, and a winding creek that keeps everything in balance. We raise, grow, and wild-harvest with deep respect for the land and the old ways.

🌱 What We Do

We grow herbs, fruits, veggies, and berries in a food forest using permaculture and Korean natural farming methods. We raise heritage pigs and hair sheep on rotational pasture, giving them space, sunlight, and care—because we believe good meat starts with a good life. We forage wild herbs and medicine from our woods, drying them gently to preserve their full potency.

🌸 Why We Do It

I grew up loving the forest, the smell of herbs, and the magic of wild food. My mama passed down her plant wisdom, and I’ve spent years studying, practicing, and helping friends and family heal with herbs and real food. That’s the spirit behind Rare Delicious—because real health and real flavor shouldn’t be rare, but they are.

Our Homestead & Julia - the owner

Hi, I am Julia, a passionate homesteader and studied herbalist, dedicated to moving toward sustainable living and natural healing. With a deep-rooted love for nature, I have embarked on an herbalist journey nearly a decade ago; over 3 years ago, my family and I have transformed our property into a growing homestead. In addition to our 40 plus acers of wood land for foraging wild food and medicine, we wildcraft and cultivate sustainably over 30 or so medicinal herbs alongside a large, bountiful garden and a growing food forest of fruit trees. My days are filled with tending to the garden, and foraging in the woods, along our creek, always eager to connect with anyone who enjoys the wild and the bounty it provides. You may join my Facebook private group called Promethean Pastures to connect with me; and to ask me any question about herbs, foraging and our homestead if you like.
