At Waspfriend Farms all of our hives are chemical treatment-free and our bees have a wide variety of wild plants, flowers, and trees to visit for nectar and pollen. Because of our unique mixed grass prairie ecosystem, our bees generally do not experience a dearth (lack of nectar) until the natural end of their season at the end of fall. This means that any honey we take from the bees is excess and they are always left with an abundance to thrive on through our long winters. We are located on the open Montana prairie near a large river with multiple springs and outlets, so our bees always have access to fresh water. 

Our spring honey is thick and luxurious, with a full-bodied floral honey flavor. For a lighter, more delicate flavor profile, try our summer honey!

Raw Wildflower Honey - Spring Skep

Hominy - Pašdáyapi 

Pašdáyapi is made by using wood ash to bring the corn through the process called nixtamalization. This process removes the outer hull of the corn, awakening the flavor, transforming the color, and releasing the full nutritional potential of the corn. This corn can also be ground for grits, cornmeal, and masa.

Soak overnight for best results, changing water at least once. Cook thoroughly.
