Overview - The acai plam tree grows to a height of up to 60 feet. The berries are about the size of blueberries and are dark purple. The taste is a cross between chocolate and red wine.

Parts Used - The acai berry is the only part used, and with the seed removed.

Medicinal Uses - People use acai for osteoarthritis, high cholesterol, erectile dysfunction (ED), weight loss and obesity, “detoxification,” and for improving general health. In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that acai has anti inflammatory, antioxidant, and apoptotic effects.
