Anise is a beautiful lacy annual plant. Once established it will reach nearly 3' tall and bloom much like queen anne's lace with a white umbel of many smaller flowers. Seeds are best harvested when they plump up, at which point you are best to cut the entire head and hang to finish drying. The entire plant has a licoricey aroma.
