cool, moistening + clean, chickweed is one of the earliest greens to show up in spring.
it has long been used as a nutritive tonic to clean the winter out of your system.
it washes through the waters of the body (especially lymph), clearing toxicity and stagnation.
it's particularly helpful for diet/weight loss support
for many years i have used chickweed as a companion remedy to ‘daily detox’ tincture for this use.

chickweed is also commonly used for low thyroid support.
i like to use it in a little regimen with:
slippery elm bark tea,
black walnut hull tincture (low dose)
and sometimes low dose queen anne’s lace.
a solid magnesium complex (i like bioemblem)
a few brazil nuts a day and a healthy lifestyle
we can really bump you in the right direction.
ashwagandha root is often used here as well.
it’s nice to have a safe and forward adaptogen + tonic in this regimen
to give you a little leg up in stress support and energy/endurance.

a slow metabolism indicates that your liver needs help processing and eliminating toxins.
this is also the case when someone who's eating well, exercising and losing weight hits a 'plateau'
leaving them foggy, sluggish and tired. they stop losing weight.
(this is also a situation where people start experiencing low thyroid symptoms.)
you can use this remedy pretty liberally. try one dropper full 2-3 times a day with a glass of water.
just make sure you're taking it with water. this is a great plant ally for spring and summer.
chickweed itself tastes like the little crunchy sprouts from the grocery store that cost $8 for a tiny container.

store tinctures out of direct sunlight and at moderate room temperatures. it does not hurt to refrigerate them but is not necessary.
