Coming to you straight from the North Woods of Minnesota... dried LOBSTER mushrooms!

Lobsters are a fantastic way to add color, texture, and flavor to any meal.

The flavor is fantastic making these mushrooms a good choice for a stand alone side dish, or you use them to top off your favorite pasta dishes. They're also great to cook up in some butter and add them to summer salads.

Both the color & the flavor resemble seafood making this a great choice to add into summer crab salad.

As with all wild edibles, if you have never had the pleasure of eating a lobster mushroom I highly recommend starting with a very small portion to ensure that you don't have an allergic reaction.

The lobsters are harvested, sprayed with compressed air (to blow off any dirt, pollen, or plant matter) and dehydrated on the same day to help ensure the best possible flavors are sealed in.

The dried pieces are then stored in an air tight glass jar. Once purchased I transfer them into a food grade bag prior to shipping. When you receive your package you can either keep them in the food grade bags (they will store for up to 1 year in the bags) or you can transfer them back into an air tight jar (the mushrooms can be stored for several years in sealed glass jars). Be sure to keep the mushrooms out of direct sunlight during storage. This will help ensure that they keep the bright red color.

The mushrooms are NOT washed prior to dehydrating. When you rehydrate the mushrooms use a soft bristle brush to gently remove any spores prior to cooking. Please note that lobster mushrooms have white spores. If you notice a bit of white on the outside of the mushroom after rehydration don't panic! The spores are easily removed. They aren't harmful if consumed.

Each lot will contain 1.3oz of dried lobster strips.

All of these lobsters grew from short stalked white russula mushrooms. If you have questions please feel free to contact me with them.
