Bloom Characteristics:
This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds Water Requirements:
Eastern swamp milkweed is a subspecies of swamp milkweed that has flowers closest in color to Cinderella but with fuzzy leaves. While we often find this plant growing in dry powerlines, it much prefers to be in wetter soils. If started early enough, this plant will bloom the first year. The second year these plants are absolutely loaded with blooms. We love the look of this subspecies with its wonderfully fuzzy leaves. This ecotype is from Levittown, Pennsylvania and we consider it to be the standard Eastern Swamp. We have two other ecotypes available, so be sure to check them out. Photo is of the actual mother plant.
Reaches 3-4' tall.
