One of our favorite beans to can for Winter is the yellow wax. We've grown a lot of varieties over the years, and it's been hard to find any better varieties than Golden Wax and Goldmine. These are the only two wax beans we now grow. Golden Wax is a very old variety that we originally grew from Agway in the 1980s. We've saved and grown from these seeds ever since. It's becoming increasingly hard to find, but we would love to keep this strain of bean going for the future. It's a fantastic variety.

Plants are uniform, bushy and produce two excellent flushes of beans. We like to cultivate next to the plants and "Hill" them lightly to keep them upright. They do not need staked.
