Welcome to another fantastic garden addition! Marigolds serve many purposes in the garden. They are know to help keep mosquitos away, they are a great border flower as they are a natural deer & rabbit deterent, butterflies love them, the list goes on and on.

These plants are not only beneficial in the garden, but they can be used to make to make healing herbal ointments, teas, tinctures and topical treatments that have been in existence for almost 1,000 years.

Marigold flowers have many impressive health benefits. A particular species of marigold flower, Calendula officinalis (commonly just called calendula or “pot marigold”), is used to make healing herbal ointments, teas, tinctures and topical treatments that have been in existence for almost 1,000 years. Benefits and uses for Calendula officinalis marigolds include treating conditions, such as rashes, allergies, eczema and dermatitis; pain, swelling and redness caused from muscle cramps, muscular injuries or sprains; eye inflammation and itchiness caused by conjunctivitis; and fungal infections, including athlete’s foot, candida, ear infections and ringworm.

Each lot will contain 2.5 grams of seeds. That may not sound like much, but it takes a couple hundred seeds to weigh that much.

Another awesome thing about marigolds, they reseed themselves! You can choose to dead head the blossoms, or let them reseed and spread.

They are also excellent choices for classrooms! Students can plant a single seed and watch daily as they flowers grow and bloom. The grow quickly so students can learn the entire growth process. After the flowers bud out and bloom, it makes a great take home gift for the family. Something that they can be quite proud of.
