Sustainable Forestry Solutions has been providing Strategic and Native Species preservation and Restoration work for over a decade now!

Beyond Excited to announce budding success of 7th year inoculations of Chaga into designated "sacrifice zones" of wild stands of native Birch on the Shawangunk Ridge as well through the Catskill Forest and Berkshires of Massachusetts. In the coming years we should be able to fully transition into utilizing our own forest cultivated Chaga as a means of maintaining our resolve to provide strategic and important medicines from the wild in a sustainable and ethical way promoting Regenerative principals!

Your Purchase directly supports our Regenerative work promoting rewilding initiatives with Sustainable Forestry Solutions as well ethical sourcing of these species of concern and increasingly rare and threatened species at risk from over harvesting.

CHAGA

A fungus known atleast 4,000 years in Traditional Medicine. Used by Ancient Mesopotamians, Egyptians, Asiatic Societies, Scandian and Native Americans. As well a part of shamanic rituals, especially by Khanty/Oystaks who gave it its current, and most frequently used name. Chaga wasn’t unknown to Japan’s indigenous people the Ainu whom brewed chaga tea and drank it to treat their digestive issues, stomach ache, etc. They also used the mushroom in a powder form for religious rituals.

Chaga contains rich amounts of Betulinic acid has been shown to induce mitochondrial apoptosis in different cancer cell lines and inhibit the enzyme topoisomerase, which is essential for the unwinding and winding of the DNA strands in cell replication. In addition it possesses anti-retroviral, antiparasitic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is currently being developed as an anti-cancer agent through the Rapid Access to Intervention Development program of the US National Cancer Institute!

In vitro studies on betulinic acid have shown it to be highly effective against a wide variety of cancer cells: human melanoma, neuroectodermal (neuroblastoma, medulloblastoma, Ewing’s sarcoma) and malignant brain tumors, ovarian cancer, human leukemia HL-60 cells and malignant head and neck squamous cell cancers, including those derived from therapy-resistant and refractory tumors. However, it was found to have no effect on epithelial tumors, such as breast cancer, colon cancer, small cell lung cancer and renal cell cancer as well as T-cell leukemia cells. Its anti-tumor activity has been related to its direct effects on mitochondria and induction of apoptosis.

Other important components of Chaga include polysaccharides and sterols. Its high phenolic content gives it exceptional antioxidant properties and a melanin complex has also been identified as having significant antioxidant and genoprotective properties

Chaga mushroom promotes immune system function by encouraging the production of cytokines, proteins vital for cellular communication. With improved communication, your immune system cells can better collectively combat threats posed by viruses or other infection-causing agents. During cold and flu season, regularly drinking a cup of Chaga mushroom tea will give your immune system a welcome boost.

Chaga is also a Great dietary supplement during chemotherapy. Boosts energy and stamina. Ease mild tension and increases body's resistance to stress

Chaga mushrooms promote the production of healthful digestive enzymes that will help keep your digestive system running smoothly. A significant boost in Serotonin production to help regulate wellbeing thru the day to promote restful sleep with ample Melatonin to get thru a good nights sleep is key to breaking cycle of Insomnia and cyclic Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and subsequent Anxiety Disorders onset from this all common disorder

SUPERIOR ANTIOXIDANT SUPPLEMENT - with second highest only to Chocolate and 3x the amount found in Acai berries! Chagas antioxidant value known as ORAC "Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity" is the second most anti-oxidant rich food on the planet!! Protects cell components against free radicals. Supports healthy blood sugar levels and respiratory tract health. Supports healthy digestion, detoxification and improves the appearance of skin and hair.

DIGESTIVE DISORDERS – Melano-glucan complexes have wide antimicrobial activity and Chaga has traditionally been used as an internal cleanse.

BLOOD PRESSURE - Chaga helps with diabetes lowers blood glucose from first dose. Betulinic Acid reduces LDL and helps with cardio vascular health. Chaga lowers blood pressure and prevents blood clots. Chaga removes lactic acid from your blood giving you more endurance and energy and giving your liver a break. Chaga is a liver tonic, hepatoprotective detoxifying your liver. Very high level of anti-oxidants Melanin turns Chaga in to powerful anti-aging tool!

PSORIASIS – Several anecdotal reports indicate benefit of Chaga for psoriasis and this is supported by a Russian study on 50 psoriasis patients, which reported a 76% cure rate, with improvement in a further 16% of cases. The same study reported that it typically took 9-12 weeks for improvement to become apparent

ANTI-VIRAL - Chaga has traditionally been used to treat a number of viral conditions and aqueous extracts of Chaga prevented Herpes simplex virus entry. Betalunic acid disrupts assembly and budding of the HIV-1 virus and viral fusion to the cell membrane. key to survivorship of severe viral infections is Lowering the potentially fatal Cytokine storm, a common autoimmune response complication of respiratory diseases caused by corona viruses such as SARS, MERS, H5N1

Chaga is also packed with high levels of naturally occurring Vitamin B complex. It’s rich in more than 215 phytonutrients, beta glucans, saponins, amino acids, belulinic acid, and other raw food based soluble minerals. The body can benefit from these things in a variety of different ways.

In 2004, researchers in Korean made a fascinating discovery. They reported that human cells which were pretreated with a hot water extract of Chaga conk had a 40 percent reduction in DNA fragmentation when compared with the positive control

These types of promising results sparked further research across the globe. Three years later in 2007, at the University of Bradford, U.K., medical research scientists embarked upon another interesting study involving Chaga and a group of patients. They studied the antioxidative effects of a room temperature water-ethanol extract of cultured Chaga mycelium on the DNA of 40 patients. Twenty were healthy individuals, and the other 20 had irritable bowel disease (IBD). They concluded:

“Chaga supplementation resulted in a 54.9% reduction of H2 O2 induced DNA damage within the patient group and 34.9% within the control group. Conclusively, Chaga extract reduces oxidative stress in lymphocytes from IBD patients"

To be clear: Chaga mushrooms are safe for virtually all to consume. However, there are still certain possibilities to be understand. Consuming chaga mushrooms may increase the effects of anticoagulant medications such as aspirin and warfarin. This can elevate your risk for bleeding and bruising. Those with auto-immune disease should consult with a healthcare professional prior to ingesting chaga mushrooms.

Chaga mushrooms should not be used when taking intravenous applications of glucose and penicillin. If you are pregnant or lactating, consult your healthcare provider prior to taking. Be sure to store chaga unopened, or opened in a cool, dark and dry place.
