this chamomile was growing wild in a happy field by my house. i harvested the plant probably ten times over the course of summer to achieve a half gallon of fresh tincture. i was sure to promptly tincture the fresh flowers in vodka to preserve the volatile oils. a quality remedy!

GI PAIN AND ISSUES
every old herb book, regardless of culture, says the same thing about chamomile:
it is the number one herb for a tormented belly regardless of the root issue. it is said to be excellent in bilious complaints and passing stones. perhaps this is my new go to for belly problems. i don't have a lot of experience with chamomile specifically in terms of GI complaints. it is in 2/3 dream team blends (ko'd and count sheep) for sleep teas. i would be very grateful for any feed back regarding GI distress and chamomile that i can add to my collected research and personal understanding of the herb.

EMOTIONAL PROFILE
matthew wood and william lesassier talk about chamomile being the go to remedy 'for babies of any age'. people who are fickle, emotionally labile and whiney- *especially* when they are sick or in pain. i don't want anyone's feelings to be hurt by that indication. i actually think this is a wonderful remedy to soothe your inner child. many people grew up feeling like their needs were not met and that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. it is never too late to work on those feelings and seek appropriate support for that work. (both motherwort and black walnut have ties to mother-child relationships)

matthew wood says chamomile people are said to vocalize their struggles and ask for love and help, whereas agrimony people hide their pain and troubles, letting them fester and turn into inner tensions.

chamomile is no doubt a very safe herb. a small handful of allergic reactions have occurred and popular busy body articles were written about it. i have had many requests for sleep teas with no chamomile because people with ragweed allergies feel they're at risk. please always do what makes you feel safe, but also know that this is not a common issue. there are many common herbs in the Asteraceae family as well as many common foods. chamomile is an extremely popular herb world wide and is safe enough to give to pregnant women, nursing mothers and children. not to mention- any time you try a new herb you should start with a very small dose!
