CHICKEN OF THE WOODS

HEALTH BENEFITS: Chicken of the Woods is high in protein and digestive fiber and low in fat, making it a healthy meat replacement. Great source of potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin A. Chicken of the Woods contains antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor properties. 

FLAVOR PROFILE: A mild flavor with lemony undertones and a texture similar to chicken, lobster, or crab. A great meat replacement in vegetarian and vegan dishes. 

HOW TO ENJOY CHICKEN OF THE WOODS: One of the easiest ways to enjoy the flavor and texture of these mushrooms is to sauté them in olive oil with garlic, shallots, white wine, and fresh herbs. Great in pasta dishes, curries, casseroles, risottos, and egg-based dishes like quiches, omelets and frittatas.

2 oz Dried Chicken of The Woods (Sealed Mylar Bag) will be shipped via USPS. It will arrive in a food grade bag protected by a box, bubble mailer, or a combination of both.

Store in supplied mylar storage bag (or in airtight jar/container) in cool, dark place out of direct sunlight. Keep sealed to prevent moisture.

Put the dried mushrooms in warm water for at least 15 minutes, depending on how thick the dried mushrooms are. When the mushrooms are soft and pliable, gently lift the mushrooms out of the water. The clean, strained mushroom water can be added to stock or used in a sauce. Your clean, rehydrated mushrooms are plumped and ready to cook. After this process, chop and use the rehydrated mushrooms as you wish.
